Red Cross assists nine at Columbia fire

COLUMBIA, May 22, 2014 — American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter volunteers are assisting nine members of a Columbia household who lost their home Thursday in a fire.
Three volunteers responded to the scene, located on East St. Charles Road, and met with the clients. The Red Cross provided financial resources for the clients to meet their immediate emergency needs with the purchase of food, clothing and a temporary motel stay.
Clients also received Red Cross comfort kits, which contain personal hygiene items, and referrals to local partner agencies.
The Red Cross will monitor their recovery.

NEW BLOOMFIELD, May 22, 2014 — The American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter is assisting a New Bloomfield-area couple whose home burned Thursday morning.
A Fulton volunteer responded to the scene, located on County Road 498, and met with the clients.
The Red Cross provided financial assistance for the clients to meet their immediate emergency needs with the purchase of food and clothing.
They also received Red Cross comfort kits, which contain personal hygiene items, and referrals to local partner agencies.
The Red Cross will monitor their recovery process.

Red Cross responds to fire near Columbia

COLUMBIA, May 22, 2014 — The American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter is assisting a Columbia-area couple whose home was damaged in a fire Monday.
The couple contacted the Red Cross Wednesday. Chapter volunteers met with the couple, who live on Prathersville Road, Wednesday night.
Volunteers provided financial assistance for the couple to meet their immediate emergency needs with the purchase of food and clothing. Volunteers also provided Red Cross comfort kits, which contain personal hygiene items.
Their insurance company is providing a hotel stay.
The Red Cross will monitor the couple’s recovery process
