Red Cross assists nine at Columbia fire
Mobile home destroyed
COLUMBIA, May 22, 2014 — American Red Cross Heart of Missouri Chapter volunteers are assisting nine members of a Columbia household who lost their home Thursday in a fire.
Three volunteers responded to the scene, located on East St. Charles Road, and met with the clients. The Red Cross provided financial resources for the clients to meet their immediate emergency needs with the purchase of food, clothing and a temporary motel stay.
Clients also received Red Cross comfort kits, which contain personal hygiene items, and referrals to local partner agencies.
The Red Cross will monitor their recovery.
